Christmas is a time for giving, and you can help our Outreach Committee support people in need.
Beginning December 1, we invite to take an ornament from a Giving Tree in our narthex and purchase the requested item or make a donation.
Most items are due by Sunday, December 22.

DIG (Dream, Invest, Grow)
DIG continues to grow and expand assistance to people in the Valencia region of Guatemala. In June, DIG completed construction of a health clinic, expanding health care access to the region's 43,000 residents.
This giving tree will be collecting vitamins (prenatal, children's, and multi-vitamins).
Please note: Children's vitamins must be chewable, and no gummy vitamins.
DIG's Centre of Hope in Guatemala is home base for LCR members the Doppenbergs. The Centre's educational, nutritional and wellness programs serve 2,500 families and 8,000 children. Learn more about DIG's work.
Immigrant & Refugee Ministry
For students in our English Speakers of Other Languages classes (ESoL), we are collecting the following items:
- $20 Kroger Gift Cards,
- Raisins, nuts, individually wrapped bags of candy
- Body wash or soap,
- Shampoo,
- Toothbrushes (adult- and/or child-size in individual packs or packs of 2)
- Toothpaste
Donations are due December 15.
LCR’s Immigrant & Refugee ministry works with local, national and international organizations to provide logistics and support to welcome the stranger. We offer ESOL classes at LCR in partnership with Heartfelt Tidbits, a local nonprofit supporting the needs of refugees and immigrants in the Cincinnati area.
Manna from Heaven
We are collecting toys for boys and girls (~$10 price range). Toys should be unwrapped and placed at the tree in the narthex.
Donations are due December 11.
Manna from Heaven is a food distribution center located in Myra, Kentucky serving more than 27,000 people annually. LCR & Manna have worked together for over 12 years. LCR and friends deliver tons of food each month as well as clothing, books, household items, gardening seeds and supplies.
Navajo Preparatory Academy (NCPA)
We are gathering Amazon gift cards, cash donations or checks (made out to LCR account number 5117) to purchase clothing items for students ages 6-10. These items will be purchased by LCR’s Navajo committee chair through Amazon Prime to save on shipping costs.
The Navajo Christian Preparatory Academy (school for Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission), located in the heart of the Navajo reservation in Rock Point, Arizona, seeks to meet the educational, health, social and spiritual needs of the Navajo people in the community with very limited resources. ELCA Good Gifts
This ELCA program benefits “God’s Global Barnyard” providing communities throughout the world with clean water and other support.
You can learn more and give online or pick up an ornament at the Good Gifts Giving Tree table at LCR along with instructions on how to make purchases.
