This Lent, we're walking humbly with God...but what does humility even mean? Why would we want to be humble anyway?
The word humility shares the same root as human and humus (soil). Let's get grounded and connect to what really matters this Lent by looking to the example of St. Francis of Assisi.
St. Francis is famous for his humility. For "being a fool for God", forgoing riches and living simply to serve marginalized communities, in kinship with Creation.
By learning stories of his life and seeing how they resonate in our times, we will learn what it means to be of the earth and in community with Creation, the delight we can find in wonder and in humbly admitting that we don't know, and ways to let go of consumerism in favor of simplicty.
We'll learn spiritual practices inspired by St. Francis to help us this season.
We'll walk humbly with God:
