"God's Work. Our hands." Sunday
Sept. 22, 2019
Together in Jesus Christ, we are freed by grace to live faithfully, witness boldly and serve joyfully.
Mark your calendar today! The date for the 2019 "God's work. Our Hands." Sunday is Sept. 22.
Since 2013, thousands of ELCA congregations have participated in this dedicated day of service, gathering to serve communities in ways that share the love of God with all of God’s people. The event has quickly become an anticipated way to be “church together” and “church for the sake of the world.”
This year at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection we will be showing our love through service projects that include thanking first responders at Mercy Hospital Anderson, cleaning up a park in our neighborhood and sharing some music and time with residents at a local nursing home. our service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans:
All of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. You work every day to make your community a better place. Let’s do this work together! Visit LCResurrection.org/GWOH and volunteer today!
Not able to volunteer on September 22nd? You can still serve by participating in our letter-writing campaign.
