God's love calls us into a community where love and justice are valued above all else. We love in a way that ensures equity in access, participation for all, and love for everyone that flourishes and transforms lives.
“The end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the Beloved Community. It is this type of spirit and this type of love that can transform opponents into friends. It is this type of understanding goodwill that will transform the deep gloom of the old age into the exuberant gladness of the new age. It is this love which will bring about miracles in the hearts of men.”
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
An Agape Love.
We are striving to build a beloved community that exhibits agape love, which, as the love of God operating in the human heart seeks to, as Dr. King said, "preserve and create community.
We do not see this as something to be achieved in the future but something that we are living into now in our local neighborhood, in our nation, and around the world. We are about God's work remaking our communities where love does not accept injustice or evil. Where love ensures that all are welcomed, valued and cared for.
