12 Days of Christmas

Appalachian Holiday Food Outreach

November 13 - December 14, 2022

Help bring joy and a holiday meal to people experiencing poverty and recent flooding in Southeastern Appalachia.

Helping Our Eastern Kentucky Neighbors

Join us in making the holidays a little merrier and brighter for our neighbors in Eastern Kentucky.

Collect 12 nonperishable food items (one for each day of Christmas!) and we'll supply the fresh vegetables, and a turkey or ham for a complete holiday meal. Holiday meals will be distributed through Manna from Heaven food pantry in Myra, KY.

Manna from Heaven Food Pantry

Manna from Heaven is a food distribution center located in Southeastern Kentucky serving over people 27,000 annually.

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and Manna from Heaven began working together over 11 years ago. Our congregation and its friends make monthly trips with trucks and the LCR trailer bringing tons of pounds of food each month.

In addition to serving area individuals, Manna distributes thousands of pounds of fresh and frozen products and food assistance to many organizations serving the needs of the poor, including a local soup kitchen, nursing homes, the VA center and more.

Manna from Heaven was devastated when the ministry's building flooded this summer and the organization had to temporarily stop offering services.

Our team has been working with local, regional and national organizations to work out disaster relief responses and to obtain replacement equipment, physical structures and supplies that will help Manna continue its vital work into the future.

Special thanks to our grant supporters, friends & event co-sponsors:
