RETURNING TO SLIDELL:
The re-building continues!!! LCR’s next Mission Trip to Slidell,
Louisiana, is scheduled for the week of
June 22-29, 2008.
An informational meeting will be held Wednesday March 19, at
6:30 p.m. for anyone interested in going on this summer mission
trip to the Gulf Coast. Members and friends are welcome! Contact Diane

LCR just returned from
Slidell, Louisiana area in June, continuing the rebuilding of the
Gulf Coast.
In
November of 2006, LCR sent a team of volunteers to Slidell, Louisiana to
do Hurricane Katrina Relief work. Unlike the previous two trips where we
were involved in
mucking
(demolition) this time we had the opportunity to rebuild, hanging
approximately 350 sheets of sheet rock, followed by taping, mudding, and
priming at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Chalmette, Louisiana. Next to
the Lower Ninth Ward, Chalmette was one of the hardest hit areas by
Katrina.
