Caring
Care Teams are members of a congregation working together, as partners, in ministering to the needs of the members of our congregation
Why Become Involved?
People of God are given gifts for ministry and are called to use those gifts in service to those in need.
Individuals and families in our congregation often need assistance to maintain their independence.
As members of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection we strive to be a Nurturing community of believers.
Benefits to the Care Recipients
- Increased opportunities for socialization and worship.
- Reassurance that they are not forgotten or overlooked.
- Assistance with activities of daily living.
- Opportunities to explore feelings evoked by ill-health, aging, loss of independence and control.
- Provide primary care-givers the opportunity for “quality time” away from their daily care-giving duties.
- Needed service is delivered in an organized and consistent manner.
Benefits to the Congregation
- Respond to Christ’s command to; “Love Our Neighbor”.
- Provide effective in-home pastoral care ministry to individuals and families with special needs.
- Provide members with increased opportunities to participate in worship, congregational activities and pursue personal interests.
- Increase resources by equipping members with specialized pastoral care and leadership skills and increased awareness and sensitivity to others needs.
All these Caring Ministry Teams provide gestures of love and care for any member in need.
Sub-teams:
- Childcare - Members of this team provide childcare for those experiencing an emergency and need assistance with their children.

If You Are Experiencing an Emergency, the Caring Ministry Team Can Help
Are you experiencing an emergency? Do you know of any other members who may be in crisis?
The Caring Ministry Teams are here to help in the event of an emergency or to provide assistance during your recovery period.
The teams can also assist you in finding community resources which may offer long-term assistance.
Please let either Diane Schwiger-Alexander or Pastor Zorn know of your needs. They will pass on your needs to the Team coordinators.
The Team coordinators will assist you in getting the help you need.
Your Gifts Are Needed to Help the Caring Ministry Team
Please prayerfully consider the gifts you have received from God and how you feel called to share these gifts. Please note that Co-Captains are needed for many of the Caring Ministry Teams.
Then sign-up for the team or teams in which you are called to serve in the Narthex or contact Diane Schwiger-Alexander.
